Duties (Brief description of the principal task involved):
Set-Up and maintain melting furnaces, transport the melt, and fill castings in compliance with
requirements. Troubleshoot, clean and degas furnaces.

Charges the melting furnaces with the relevant material.
Corrects the alloying constituents according to the specifications.
Treats the melt according to the corresponding specifications.
Delivers CPC holding furnaces with melt of the correct analysis and correct temperature.
Cleans the melting furnaces, transfer trough, tools and other operating equipment.
Has knowledge of and complies with all work directives that apply to him.
Independently inspects his work using Spectrometer and thermal analyzer within the
framework of an operator self –inspection.
Documents his work in the relevant forms and inspection documents.
Handles his tools and materials in a careful and cost-conscious manner.
Carries out instructions from his superior or assigned Team Leader.
Is responsible for complying with all melting regulations and work directives.
Performs forklift pre shift inspections.
Completes pre shift check list.
Tracks material melted in charging log and participates in monthly inventory.
Mutinous usage of consumable parts in the melting area and monitors alloy elements, metal
handling tools and supplies.
Responsible for identifying Environmental Aspects for his/her department, and supporting
Environmental Management Plan (EMP) goals and targets through training, engagement and
communication. Must comply with all Safety regulations and Proper Operating procedures,
utilizing required safety equipment at all times.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must comply with all safety
regulations and proper operating procedures, utilizing required safety equipment at all times.
Employees are obligated to leave workplace in a clean and orderly manner. Must
collaborate in the bridging of break times, and briefly inform the succeeding operator
of activities that took place during his or her shift.

Special requirements:
- High School Diploma or
Equivalent
- Career Readiness
Certificate (CRC) Preferred
- Thermal analysis instrument experience preferred.
- Instruction/density index measurement preferred.
- Instruction in the spectral analysis unit preferred.
- Teamwork capability
- Ability to work multiple
